· Mitigation of Kidney Injury from Chemotherapy
Many cancer treatments have side-effects including acute kidney injury. We specialize in
the mitigation of the side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Administration of Company Product 3 days prior to the start of Cisplatin treatment mitigates harm to the kidneys.
· Faster Surgical Healing after Mastectomy
Many breast cancer patients need radiation therapy after surgery. Unfortunately, radiation can impede the surgical wound healing process. Administration of the Company Product will benefit such patients with faster closure of the wound site and greater maturation of stem cells there.
Control of Bleeding in Cancer Patients who developed Platelet-Transfusion Refractoriness
Patients suffering from cancers such as Acute Myeloid Leukemia often have low platelet counts.
They need platelet transfusions. However, such transfusions can lead to “Platelet-Transfusion
Refractories” due to the formation of antibodies. Our product can control bleeding in these
patients who cannot benefit from the regular platelet transfusions. Work is supported by a NIH
grant.
